![]() (remember the old style rocker arms have a hole in the cam pad and the new style rockers have an oil jet in the rocker centre body). Next- the Johnson style rockers do not have oil jets. I set about sourcing an old cam from ebay, cut the tacho drive off and machined up some half cups and welded them on the cam shaft, it is not quite as easy as it first seems. Now when I received it I noticed it did not have a tacho drive on the cam shaft Mr Johnson makes the J2 and J3 cams, I chose the J2 not too hot and ideal for the big bore 600cc Some load in the valve train removed, and near silent operation, just beautiful, someone has actually done what we have all dreamt about. This is the mechanical icing on the cake. Well I heard about the Johnson cam on the internet, I did some research and these guys know their cam timing, they win lots of races, and it is exactly what I was looking for. Ok guys, here we go, Johnson J2 Cam and the only roller fitted rocker arms, results.
